Card Reserve Artificial Surface Trust (CRAST)
Trustees and users of Card Reserve turf complex are delighted to announce that the proposed upgrade of the turf has been completed. The turf was first completed in the year 2000 and opened by the then member of parliament Georgina Beyer. Four regular users of the turf have been Tennis, Hockey, Netball and Soccer. The major original sponsors were Hockey and Tennis who needed to upgrade because the old grass surface for tennis was in such a poor state. Hockey had lost their building due to fire so both clubs got together and came up with a plan to build a high-quality facility with lighting for night time use. This was because we realised Featherston has a large commuter population who looked to play sport in the evening and to train similar to rugby.
