The summer game makes a return to Featherston
After a break of more than 20 years, cricket is back! Earlier this year, Roshan Sugathan noticed the cricket nets, pitch and field on Underhill Road but no cricket being played, and he asked why the facilities weren’t being used. This discussion quickly progressed and, before long, an enthusiastic group of locals came together to officially re-establish the Featherston Cricket Club. The nets and wicket have been cleared up and regular Sunday morning practice sessions are being held either outdoors or, if the weather is inclement, inside the stadium.
