It’s been a Stella decade for Featherston’s Own
For the past decade, the op shop at 54 Fitzherbert Street has been the public face of Featherston’s Own Charitable Trust, founded by Stella Smith in 2010. She was inspired by her beliefs to fnd a way to raise money for people and groups in need in and around Featherston. Rumour has it that she started in a garage selling secondhand furniture. Ten years later, the op shop is a unique asset for Featherston. Last year alone, approximately $29,000 in shop profits supported dozens of local groups and organisations, from sports teams to arts-and crafts groups.
