Neo and Zaan burn up the track at NI games
The Colgate Games are New Zealand’s biggest athletics events for children and are attended by hundreds of athletes aged from seven to 14 years. Featherston Athletics sent two athletes to the 2023 North Island Colgate Games in Whanganui last month – brothers Neo and Zaan Burns. And seven-year-old Neo produced a performance that turned a few heads, coming first in the 60m, 100m and 200m sprints; first in the long jump; and second in the discus. Meanwhile Zaan also achieved per- sonal bests in the 200m and 400m races. Both boys were competing in the Games for the first time.
