Booktown Karukatea Festival 2023.
After a wild and wet 2022 Festival (not to mention the days leading up to the fest), the weather gods were smiling upon us and turned on the sunshine for the 13th and 14th May. The streets, shops and eateries were humming with booklovers, authors, buskers and food trucks, and accommodation was in short supply.
The festival began during the week with the Young Readers Programme, which took authors and artists into local schools with 29 events over three days in schools, kindergarten and halls around the region. From ‘Speed dating a digital writer’….
