The Merit Badge is awarded to those members of the RSA who have rendered ten or more years of outstanding honorary service to the RSA for the benefit of RSA personnel and the wider community. A Royal New Zealand Returned and Services Association (RNZRSA) Merit Badge award was approved by the RNZRSA Presidents’ Forum in late 2024. Sadly, Dick passed away before the award could be presented to him, however we were greatly honored that his wife, Kiri, accepted Dick’s Merit Badge and Certificate on behalf of the Smith whānau.
